Aquopolis Torrevieja, through the Parques Reunidos Foundation, is part of the official Sunflower Collar initiative, an official HD Sunflower project that gives visibility to people with hidden conditions or disabilities that are not immediately obvious.
Globally, one in six people live with a disability, of which up to 80% may not be visible. Without a visual cue, it can be difficult for others to identify, recognise or understand the barriers these people with an invisible disability face in their day. So, with the aim of promoting inclusion, acceptance and understanding, the official Sunflower Necklace allows you to voluntarily share that you have a hidden disability, letting everyone know that you may need extra help, understanding or simply more time.
On arrival at Aquopolis, visitors can request their official Sunflower Necklace from Visitor Services to discreetly let others know, using this cheerful and dynamic symbol, that they need help or understanding during their visit.
